In 1997, after a 20+ years career in broadcasting, the time felt right for a healthy career change. So the studies in exercise physiology began, eventually leading to a clutch of specialised qualifications in health and fitness.

It wasn’t long after starting Tai Chi & Qigong in 2000 that I realised how much it has to offer for the health and wellbeing of everyone. It's influence on my professional practice grew, adding an extra dimension to working with both ‘healthy’ people and those with controlled medical conditions and disabilities.

So with a professional background in exercise physiology, I now teach the principles of Tai Chi from both the 'traditional' Eastern perspective, and with the application of 'modern' Western exercise science. The emphasis has become 'functional', hence the name 'Shiyong Tai Chi'. Practical Tai Chi tailored to suit what is useful for an individual's health and wellbeing.

Currently teaching in East Hampshire, a range of classes are available, including personal tuition and corporate events. Catering for people of all ages, abilities or disabilities, with sessions adapted for groups with particular needs.
